Welcome letter
Dear new UCSBers,
Congratulations and Welcome to University of California, Santa Barbara - the most beautiful campus in United States!
We believe that as the moment you are reading this letter, most of you are preparing for coming here. And we, UCSB Chinese Students and Scholars Association (UCSB-CSSA) are also looking forward to assisting you with it.
CSSA has prepared a survive guide especially for you (provided by Qiang Gong), from which you would have a basic picture of life in Santa Barbara. It is available on our official website http://orgs.sa.ucsb.edu/cssa/. Some useful housing and living links are also attached at the end of this letter.
If you need other help such as a pickup from the Santa Barbara airport, please notify us at least one week before your arrival by sending email to: CSSA-NSSP@googlegroups.com. If your flight arrives at Los Angles Airport (LAX), please take the airbus from there to Santa Barbara (Goleta - Thornwood Station). We will pick you up from there (You can get a guaranteed seat if make a reservation through the airbus station’s website:
http://www.santabarbaraairbus.com/lax/index.php). If you cannot find a place to live by the time you arrive here, contact us in advance and we’ll try our best to provide a temporary place for you to stay.
For assisting you better, we hope you could understand that it is necessary and important for us to have your basic contact information (Name, Email, Gender, Major, University you are from). Please email it to CSSA-NSSP@googlegroups.com.
Besides helping you settle down here in UCSB, CSSA is also planning on an orientation and many other kinds of activities/events through out the year, such as sports, parties, barbeques and trips. They are going to be really fun, and we believe that you will definitely love staying here with our community. Please keep an eye on our future notifications and website.
