The History of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is tribute to the spirit and imagination of 22 visionary college women.  Eighty six years ago, at Howard University in Washington D.C., Delta's youthful, dedicated founders were committed to establishing and maintaining a high standard of morality and scholarship among women.  These young women envisioned a national organization founded on Christian Principles, emphasizing sisterhood and public service.                          

     Kappa Omega Chapter was founded on the campus of UC Santa Barbara on February 14, 1974.  We hold the distinct honor of being the first African American organization on this campus, as well as opening the doors for all others to follow.  Kappa Omega is committed to upholding high morality, sisterhood, and scholarship that our illustrious founders envisioned.  We prize ourselves on our exceptional community services and social events that we provide for the African American community, and general student population within the community of Santa Barbara.
