Ate/Kuya/Ading Program:
The Ate Kuya Ading program or AKA for short is a mentorship program
like Big Brother/Big Sister. It's a chance for the older students to
help the younger students get used to the college life by
providing them with a family away from home. Here's what a couple of sophomores had to say about the AKA program:
"The aka program helped me feel more comfortable and at home in the entirety of KP. I feel like there's this difference between friends and having a "kuya" or "ate" because with my kuya, it was like he was entitled to call me out on anything I should be doing or should not be doing - and he did exactly that and kept me on check. Overall, it was like having a real brother and the only difference is he's not going to tell on you to your parents, but he still gives off that comfort of security and family." ---Jakriza Cabrera
"I love my Ate :] and my sis, and sibs. Through AKA I have an even smaller, closer knit family that I can go to when I need someone to talk to for advice or just for some good company. " ---Berna Sim
Study Hours:
Study hours will be held every Wednesday when there is not a general
meeting. Before some study hours, workshops will be held such as how
to take notes and how to take tests. They will also provide an environment for students to do schoolwork without any distractions and to get help from other students.
