Meeting on Wednesday May 10th 2006

Discussion Board: Communications regarding the event or any of the club activities and affairs shall be discussed on the Forum section of the website. This makes communication easier and everyone can read the thoughts of everyone else and we can discuss stuff there instead of waiting for the meetings.   

Flyer: Some people had objections on the proposed flyers. Objections that were noted and respected. However, due to the time limitations, we will have to come up with something, and come up with something SOON. Alex and Dylan volunteered to attempt and design a flyer. They will come back to us on Sunday evening. Anyone who has any ideas, please try to design your own flyer and submit it to us by Sunday so that we can vote on the final design. The flyer is hitting the printers on Monday. If no one comes up with a better flyer, the old one has to be used. Any objections can be addressed at the next meeting. If you object but are not there, well then . . . there isn't much we can do, now, is there?

Belly Dancer: Yousef is to contact the Belly Dancer that performs at Zaytoun. She is also a student at UCSB and performs in the Middle Eastern Ensemble. We are hoping that we will not have any problems hiring her. We are to be updated on that by next Wednesday.

Tabling at FT: We will be tabling in the FT residence halls on the week of the event. Two days, Wednesday and Thursday nights in both towers. So we basically need 4 shifts. A couple in each shift would be just great. The point is to attract the hundreds of people who live there to the event. The more they see us, the more they know about the event. Rami will be requesting the space and the time from the administration and then we will take volunteers on the forum. If you allocate an hour on a day or two, please do so. Check the forum.

Tabling on Campus: We will man tables outside the Arbor every day of the week of the event. For as long as we can do so. Hand out flyers and tell people to show up. Times will be discussed on the forum. Volunteers needed (You can have your lunch while standing and handing out flyers)

Tell Your Friends: We will be creating posters on Facebook. We will also create an event on Facebook. Invite your friends. Invite all the people in your Facebook groups. Invite everyone.

Decoration Committee: Alina, Hoda, and Paula: Hopefully they can make some posters to go around in the Residence Halls.
