Lebanese Club at UCSB
Meeting on Wednesday May 17 2006
Topics Discussed:
- Members were updated about the financial status of the event. We seem
to be doing well on getting the money. In addition to the donations we asked
for from the stores around campus, we still have the residence halls to get
money from. They are our last resort for money. This would be taken care of
by next week.
- The flyers. As if those flyers are the biggest thing this event is
about. TWO flyers will be printed. If you don't like one of the flyers,
distribute the other one.
- DJ is confirmed with his light show. We heard good stuff about this
DJ so we are hoping that he will make the party great.
- A gr
eat party needs a great audience. Getting people in is the
biggest thing on the menu. All members are to participate in this.
- Tabling in FT: We are confirmed to table in FT's SOUTH
Tower on Wednesday May 31st and the NORTH tower on June 1st from 6
till 7:30 or 8:00 PM. Volunteers needed. Sign up on the Forum or send us an
email and we'll put your name. We probably need a couple people for each
tower. Or maybe do it in shifts and have people take over other people if
needed.
- Flyers: flyers are hitting the printers tomorrow. I will set
up a time with each and every one of you to give you some. The least you can
do it to hand them out to your friends. Don't throw them away, because I'll
know and I'll send people after you :P.
- Banners and Posters: We will be visiting the residence halls
to make banners and posters to hang out there. Hoda and Alina will be taking
charge of organizing the campaign to visit the residence halls. More on the
discussion board...
- Tabling outside the Arbor: Everyone eats lunch. Eat lunch
while sitting outside the Arbor on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before
the event. Hand out flyers and entice people to show up. This is our best
bet.
- Facebook: If you need admin status, let me know. Invite your
friends. BUG your friends. Do not take a no for an answer. If you know your
friends are out of state or will absolutely not show up even if their
survival depends on it, don't invite them. We need the invitations (max 300
outstanding invitations).
- Fees: If you didn't pay, you have to pay. The member fees will
be used as our backup funding for the event ;)
Most of the people who do not show up have NO reason not to. They might just
show up to the event and claim that they helped make it happen. Don't!
Good luck for those who showed up with papers due this week.
