The Native American Indigenous Languages Study Group is interested in topics relevant to Native American indigenous languages, their people, and their cultures, as well as in topics generally relevant to researchers in the humanities and social sciences, such as data collection, data archiving, new media and research, collaboration with communities, and ethics and human subjects.
Our activities
Meetings are held to discuss topics relevant to Native American Indigenous languages, their people, and their cultures, as well as topics of general interest to researchers in the humanities and social sciences. Occasionally, local or visiting researchers present their work. Announcements of meetings are sent via e-mail to interested parties and are published on this site.
Workshop on American Indigenous Languages is a three-day conference held every Spring Quarter at UCSB. WAIL brings together researchers from all over the world to present their work, exchange ideas, and to build a network with other institutions and individuals. It provides a venue for professors and students from a variety of fields to present their current research.
