The essence of Kappa Kappa Gamma is based on friendship, love, acceptance, and understanding. Kappa was founded in 1870 at Monmouth College, and the UCSB chapter began in 1978. The sorority has established many goals to unite it's members in a close bond of friendship, seeking to instill in members a spirit of mutual love and helpfulness in obtaining philanthropic, academic, social and moral excellence.
