Our Concepts as Sigma Alpha Zeta

Sigma Alpha Zeta is a multicultural sorority dedicated to sisterhood through education. As an organization on the UCSB campus, we are seeking to strengthen opportunities for accomplishment, as well as opportunities for education, for our members. We aim to give the ladies of Sigma Alpha Zeta an enriching university experience that will empower us to continue on in life with a proud heart and strong character.
Our sorority was founded on the idea that sisterhood, not race, was the basis of our organization. Our concepts-sisterhood, academic excellence, and community service-compliment this belief and emphasize our modern need for multicultural thinking.
We promote and encourage ambition, especially academically. Sigma Alpha Zeta sets high standards of academic excellence to promote stamina and determination within education. We also encourage academic diversity, promoting multidisciplinary curriculums for our members.
