Highlights of Fall Quarter 2002 SBDC Activities
The Swing and Ballroom Dance Club was very active this past quarter. Here is a summary of some of our recent Fall Quarter 2002 activities and events (more photos to be added later).
- SBDC Dance Etiquette "Tip of the Week"
- As an ongoing feature, the Swing and Ballroom Dance Club publishes a weekly Dance Etiquette "Tip of the Week". Each week, we announce the etiquette tip, and then it is posted on the SBDC Web Site.
SBDC Weekly Basics I Lesson Schedule
As another continuing feature, the SBDC Weekly Basics I Lesson Schedule is posted on the SBDC Web Site. For Fall Quarter, we concentrated more on basic Swing Dance Lessons. SBDC club members are able to find the dance topics of interest from the schedule, and plan in advance to attend those lessons. All lessons are supervised or conducted by the SBDC club officers.
SBDC 6th Annual Halloween Dance and Theme Night
We held our annual Halloween celebration this year (Monday 10/28/2002), and it was some costume party! The SBDC went all out in decorating the Rob Gym for Halloween. We had Elvis, Mickey and Minney Mouse, Captains, even Elvira . . . .
Elvis and fans.

SBDC 5th Annual Fall Harvest Ball Dance
The SBDC major dance for Fall Quarter was our Fall Harvest Ball (Saturday 11/16/2002). This special event featured complete Fall Harvest Decorations and refreshments. Plus, the highlight of the evening was our SBDC Balloon Drop with Prizes! We had about 20 prizes hidden inside the balloons. Whoever popped a balloon containing a prize ticket won the prize! Everyone had a great time. The SBDC taught the basics of these 4 dances prior to the start of the dance: Waltz, Foxtrot, Cha-Cha, and East Coast Swing. Also, during the evening, we had everyone come out and do "The Madison" line dance!
Eager dancers await the "Fall Harvest" Balloon Drop.
Here they come! The balloons are loose!
Mad Balloon Poppers going after anything that floats!.
The gruesome aftermath. Nothing but empty balloon carcasses!
