Highlights of Fall Quarter 2005 SBDC Activities

The Swing and Ballroom Dance Club was very active this past quarter. Here is a summary of some of our recent Fall Quarter 2005 activities and events (photos will be added in the future, when available).

SBDC Dance Etiquette "Tip of the Week"
As an ongoing feature, the Swing and Ballroom Dance Club publishes a weekly Dance Etiquette "Tip of the Week". Each week, we announce the etiquette tip, and then it is posted on the SBDC Web Site.

SBDC Weekly Basics I Lesson Schedule
As another continuing feature, the SBDC Weekly Basics I Lesson Schedule is posted on the SBDC Web Site. For Fall Quarter, we provided our members with a wide range of dance subjects. SBDC club members are able to find the dance topics of interest from the schedule, and plan in advance to attend those lessons. All lessons are supervised or conducted by the SBDC club officers.

Spring Quarter Major Dance, Workshop, and Theme Nights!
The SBDC held our "Swinging At Sea" on Saturday, November 5th. It was a special evening of Swing, Ballroom, Latin, and Salsa dancing. The Robertson Gym was decorated like the inside of a Cruise Ship for the evening!

The SBDC held a specialty International Rumba Workshop on Saturday, November 19th, 2005. This featured our very own Benedikt Zeyen.
For Fall Quarter, we held a "Crazy Hat" Theme Night on Monday October 24th, and a NEW “Come as a “P” Party” on Monday November 14th. And, we held our traditional "PIZZA and VIDEO Night" on Monday December 5th.

The SBDC also held a special End-of-the Year Swing Dance on Friday night, December 9th. This “no-frills” dance was FREE, and open to the public. We had a large turnout, which was especially surprising since this was the end of UCSB Fall Quarter 2005 Finals Week, and many students had already left for Winter Break.
