Highlights of Spring Quarter 2007 SBDC Activities

The SBDC was quite active this past quarter. We held 1 x Weekend Workshop, 2 x Saturday night Dances, we tried out our New Dance Events Location (UCSB Student Resources Building, Multi-purpose room), and we invited a number of Special Guest Instructors to teach for us this quarter.
Here is a summary of some of our recent Spring Quarter 2007 activities and events (photos will be added in the future, when available).

SBDC Dance Etiquette "Tip of the Week"
As an ongoing feature, the Swing and Ballroom Dance Club publishes a weekly Dance Etiquette "Tip of the Week". Each week, we announce the etiquette tip, and then it is posted on the SBDC Web Site.

SBDC Weekly Basics I Lesson Schedule
As another continuing feature, the SBDC Weekly Basics I Lesson Schedule is posted on the SBDC Web Site. For Spring Quarter, we provided our members with a wide range of dance subjects. SBDC club members are able to find the dance topics of interest from the schedule, and plan in advance to attend those lessons. All lessons are supervised or conducted by the SBDC club officers.

Spring Quarter Major Dances, Workshop, and Theme Night!
The SBDC held our “Hollywood Night” Dance on Saturday, May 2nd. The dancers shared the Red Carpet with the movie starz and the glamour-azi. We also held a “No-Frills” Dance on Saturday June 2nd, in our new dance events location, the New UCSB Student Resources Building room 1112. The SBDC provided the music, the refreshments, and the chairs. And the dancers came and danced!

The SBDC held a specialty “Tango” and “Rumba” Workshop on Saturday, May 19th, featuring our special guest instructor, Joshua James. This too was held at our new dance event location, the UCSB SRB room 1112.
For Spring Quarter, we also held a combination Food and Theme Night: “Midters Food Night” on Monday April 30th. Yum.

The SBDC Tango Performance Group had its premiere engagement at the Monday night June 2nd SBDC Pizza and Video night.
