Photos of Winter Quarter 2002 SBDC Activities

The Swing and Ballroom Dance Club has been very active this quarter. Here is a summary of some of our recent Winter Quarter 2002 activities and events, along with some fun photos.

SBDC Club Meeting and Lunchtime at the Storke dancing photos.
Here are some Winter Quarter 2002 photos from the recent "Lunchtime at the Storke" Swing Dances, along with photos from our SBDC Monday Night Club Meetings. The "Lunchtime at the Storke" dances are fun, outdoor events. The turnout usually varies week-to-week, but everyone enjoys the opportunity to do some lunchtime dancing at the UCSB Storke Plaza!

Friday Night Swing Dances at the Carrillo Recreation Center dancing photos.
Here are some SBDC Members dancing at a recent Friday Night Swing Dance at the downtown Santa Barbara Carrillo Recreation Center Ballroom. These dances are held every First and Third Friday of the month, and feature swing music by live bands! These are sponsored by Jonathan and Sylvia Swing Dancing. The SBDC will be setting up more of these "field trips" to off-campus dancing events.

SBDC Aerials Workshop with Bob Rogers and Nancy Sandburg.
For Winter Quarter 2002, the SBDC is offering several different Sunday Morning Workshops. The first one for the quarter was the AERIALS Workshop, featuring expert teachers Bob Rogers and Nancy Sandburg. Here are some photos of the SBDC members during the workshop, and also photos of the "survivors". Everyone had a good time, and the SBDC plans to offer another AERIALS workshop in the Spring Quarter.

SBDC Dance Etiquette "Tip of the Week"
As an ongoing feature, the Swing and Ballroom Dance Club publishes a weekly Dance Etiquette "Tip of the Week". Each week, we announce the etiquette tip, and then it is posted on the SBDC Web Site.

SBDC Weekly Basics I Lesson Schedule
As another continuing feature, the SBDC Weekly Basics I Lesson Schedule is posted on the SBDC Web Site. For Winter Quarter, we alternated weeks between Swing Dance Lessons and Ballroom Dance Lessons. SBDC club members are able to find the dance topics of interest from the schedule, and plan in advance to attend those lessons. All lessons are supervised or conducted by the SBDC club officers.
