Clarification

There have been rumors surrounding the election that is to occur at the General Membership Meeting on 2/4/10. We would like to make it absolutely clear that Sarah Some was NOT dismissed from her position. She has resigned. Sarah was an asset to the board. We are very thankful for her service to the Tenants Association. It was under Sarah's lead that many accomplishments were made including updates to the bike paths by Housing and formation of the education committee. Sarah is continuing to assist the Tenants Association by leading the education committee.

The TA is looking for a new

PRESIDENT

To qualify you must:

-Be a current F.S.H. resident who has signed a contract and are not themselves nor any member of their household employed by Family Student Housing and Residential Services

-Be in residence at Family Student Housing for at least three consecutive months prior to the meeting on February 4, 2010

-Attend the meeting on February 4, 2010, 6:30 p.m. Storke Community Center

-Be able to finish the 2009-2010 term (currently ending 06/10)

The duties of the President are:

a. Schedule, write agendas for and preside over all General Membership and Board meetings.
b. Attend scheduled meetings with Housing and Residential Services staff to discuss residents’ concerns and alternate writing minutes with the Vice President.
c. Be a member of and attend all Policy Review Board meetings.
d. Represent F.S.H. Tenants' Association in consultation with University and non-University organizations and individuals, and communicate the needs and interests of F.S.H. residents to them.
e. Oversee the work of all other Board members, and inform the treasurer any time an officer has not fulfilled a job responsibility which merits a fine.
f. Be a signature on the checking account and be responsible for all expenditures.
g. Keep a general record of documents and pertinent information.
h. Field phone calls from residents as necessary (and delegate questions/concerns to the appropriate officer when appropriate).
i. Receive a stipend as stipulated in Bylaws, section IX.

The monthly stipend is $395.00.

WINTER GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING+PIZZA PARTY!

The Winter General Membership meeting will be held Thursday, February 4th, at 6:30 PM in the Storke Community Center. This quarter's meeting is quite important as we will be voting for a new TA Board President AND long-awaited revisions to our Bylaws. Area reps will be distributing flyers outlining the call for a new president and proposed changes to the bylaws. Please take time to review these items and come out to vote and share a great PIZZA meal with other concerned members of the community. TA Board updates...

It has been a busy quarter for the board. Please see the attached minutes for the September and October TA board meetings.
Although we were almost rained out, we did have a few tenants that braved the weather to come to share their thoughts and concerns at the General Membership meetings (notes are attached as well). We will be having a holiday event in December where we can follow up on resident concerns and review potential bylaw revisions. Details to follow shortly. We hope to see you there!

FSH Tenants' Association Fall General Membership Meeting

Just a quick reminder to attend the West Campus General Membership Meeting Wednesday, October 14, at 7pm in the WC Community Center. Come ready to voice any concerns, share ideas, and review the by-laws with TA Board members. We realize the rain can be a deterrent so if we do not have a high turnout, we will be rescheduling the meeting for both Storke and WC.
