Letter from the President:
Fellow Toastmasters,
This year holds great potential to improve the UCSB Toastmasters
experience. I have some lofty goals in mind about what the club can
do, starting with keeping everyone well informed about meetings and
events. But to achieve this I need the help and support of all
members and officers to get the word out about toastmasters. If this
happens, then many other things are possible as well!
Here's a short list of what else I have planned:
- Expand and advertise the club. The more in attendance the
better and more helpful TM will be for learning how to speak
publicly.
- Help more members achieve their CC (Competent communicator
award).
- Have more informal events, such as going to dinner after
meetings or hosting an ice-cream social meeting.
- Integrate with other clubs on campus by sponsoring debates.
For example, debates involving campus democrats and campus
republicans.
- Make use of the money available to us by Associated
Students.
If you have any questions or ideas about what else can be
accomplished this year, please contact me! Communication is key to
making the club fun and organized.
