Christian Fellowship is commited to the expression of a five-fold
philosophy of ministry: of being a loving community of Worship,
Fellowship, Discipleship, Witness and Prayer. By being a "community
of discipleship" we mean that, as a gathered group of Christians
on the UCSB campus, we are committed to pursue the fulfilling
of Christ's great commission to "disciple" all nations
(Matthew 28:19-20). Discipleship is the process by which a person
recieves and implements the teachings and life-style of Jesus
Christ through applying God's written Word to his life.
It is our
conviction that discipling is best accomplished in the relational
context of Christian believers helping one another grow and mature
in a small group setting, even as Jesus discipled the group of
Twelve. |
WHAT? |
A
Core Group is the name we use for our small groups which meet weekly
throughout the campus. We participate in studying God's Word, worshipping
and praying together, along with finding and extending the support
necessary to grow toward maturity in Christ. Core provides for a
time to build equality, deep and caring friendships, men with men
and women with women. Core is a place to be loved, accepted, and
to extend Christ's forgiveness to one another. |

GOAL? |
The end goal
of Core is that each person would have a group of caring people
that could be deeply trusted, and in this atmosphere of trust, that
each of us might grow in our relationship with Christ and be equipped
to use our God-given gifts to minister in the world we live in. |
