OUR COMMUNITY: "Creating Our Children and Our Families" Small group discussion will address issues concerning our own image and role as LGBT parents and families. Discussion will be prefaced by social research comparing heterosexual stepfamilies to LGBT stepfamilies, family structure, and gender identity. Handouts will include a suggested reading list, research articles and contacts. Presenter: Margaret Eversole raised a 21-year-old and is "stepmother" to a 10-year-old. How Margaret fits into the queer community when she perceives of herself as a parent and how she fits into the heterosexual community when she perceives of herself as a lesbian parent are issues that form her life.
