ACADEMIC: "Round Table Reflections on
LGBT Research"
This discussion group will provide psychology
and social science researchers involved in LGBT research with
opportunity to explore researcher-level issues (e.g. attitudes,
beliefs, concerns), pragmatic issues (e.g. accessing populations,
methodological concerns), as well as conceptual issues (e.g. when to
consider lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered as one versus
several groups).
Presenters: Joe Turner is a PhD candidate in the
Counseling/Clinical/School Psychology Program at UCSB. Tania Israel is
a professor in this program and leads two research teams comprised of
doctoral students. Other panelists—Veronica Gutierrez, Uyen Bui,
Alison Brown, Hallie D’Agruma, Sae Young Min, Jeff Schnell, Soo Uhm,
and Sabrina Ree—are also affiliated with the department.
