ACADEMIC: "Sexuality and Pedagogical
Issues in the University Classroom"
This panel will address how sexuality issues are
approached in the university classroom through presentations by four
panelists who offer a range of professional, political, and personal
experiences with sexuality and diversity issues. It will provide a space
for critical reflection and action-planning among an audience of
professors, lecturers, and teaching assistants.
Presenters: Laury Oaks is an assistant professor in the Women’s
Studies Program at UCSB. Jacqueline Bobo is chair and associate
professor in the Women’s Studies Program and associate director of the
Center for Black Studies at UCSB. Ruby Tapia is a PhD candidate in
Ethnic Studies at UCSD, currently completing her dissertation at UCSB’s
Women’s Studies Program. Lynn Sacco is a PhD candidate in women’s
history at USC, working in the field of gender and sexuality.
