IDENTITIES: "Trans 201: The Male
Body"
This workshop marks a unique moment in our
history: an opportunity for solidarity building between transmen and
biomen. At the direction of the participants, we’ll discuss our common
issues—communication skills, sex and sexualtiy, the phallus, what it
means to be men, dominant images of maleness and masculinity, male
privilege, and the role of feminism in our lives. Trans and biomen
only, please.
Presenters: Joe
Sampson is a third year Sociology/Community Studies major at UCSC. His
focus is on queer men’s health issues. KC Bly is a UCSC graduate and
the first Transgender Programs Coordinator for UCSC’s GLBT Resource
Center.
